In Steven Spielberg’s fantasy adventure BFG big friendly giant convinced Mark Rylance a little girl that it is also nice giant.
The small Sophie is ten years old, lives in an orphanage and has a theory: while everybody assumes that the witching hour at night at 00:00 clock begins, she is convinced, that this just begins at 03:00. Then comes the shadow man and all of a sudden, people disappear. But one night Sophie makes a very terrifying discovery. She breaks the unwritten rules, goes to the witching hour at the window and venture behind the curtain. On the street, she watched an oversized hand, which turns out to be as that of a giant.
The giant, to which she meets is called BFG, which stands for big friendly giant. Sophie has a terrible fear of him, but BFG is different than the other giants. He is a friendly giant that man with a trumpet blows sweet dreams into the bedrooms. BFG in turn is afraid that she betrays him, and so he takes her spot in the huge country in which unfortunately not all are as sympathetic as he. On the contrary, the other giants such as Bloodbottler and Fleshlumpeater are at least twice as big as BFG and they love to eat people. BFG and the friendly giant now plan to put a stop to the terrible man-eaters.
