Based on the Novella Lady Susan by Jane Austen love and friendship unfolds the story of a widow who is looking for rich husbands: one for himself and one for her daughter.
Love and friendship is located in the 1790s England: the widow Lady Susan Vernon seeks refuge with her brother in law Charles Vernon as the rumors of an affair that should have had with a married man, out of hand. The widowed and still very good looking woman already on the search makes arrived on the country estate of their hosts after a wealthy husband – and not just for themselves, but also for her shy daughter Frederica.
The desire to bring her child under the hood, grows for Lady Susan but not out of the goodness of a mother, but from the simple fact that your daughter just entering in the society is long annoying. Without them, the widow had finally more time for their closest familiar Alicia Johnson and especially for yourself.
